Let's Share

some ideas.

Diversity and Inclusion work has been a crucial part of my personal and professional journey. This journey started with a gay-straight alliance meeting I attended as a freshman since it piqued my interest as someone who was still learning about diversity and sexuality. From this first meeting I knew I had found a place where I belonged. I moved into a leadership role as a sophomore and became the face and voice of that gay-straight alliance for the rest of my time in high school. I continued to lead and create diverse and inclusive spaces in college. I was selected to speak at the Sport and Sexuality Conference in 2009 at Ithaca College and was one of the founding members of the gay and straight student athlete association.

When I moved into the professional world, I continued to work to create and lead diversity and inclusion efforts. At the University of the Rockies, I was a member of the Diversity Task Force and Diversity Events Committee. I also was one of the founding members of the ERG - One Fullstack at Fullstack Academy. My proudest achievement as a Co-Chair of that group was spearheading and facilitating the Visibility Matters Spotlight each quarter. I find immense joy in being able to help others to create spaces for this crucial work to bring more authenticity to how we show up at work and for our coworkers.
